In spite of the 3-2 loss of PSG from Liverpool last Wednesday, PSG remains resilient with manager Thomas Tuchel shutting down rumors regarding a feud with 31-year-old forward Edinson Cavani.
Tuchel adds in a statement: “Cavani is our best defensive player. He works all the time for the team, but in Liverpool, it was very hard because we defended very low. During the match, we changed the structure, but it was not because of him.”
Tuchel made the decision to substitute Cavani due to tactical reasons and not because of any hard feelings between the two. “I was not angry at him, I fully trust Cavani because he is still thinking of helping the team. That’s why there is no problem with Edi.” Tuchel confirms.
Cavani did perform well so far in the season with three goals in several Ligue 1 games throughout the early part of this campaign. The Uruguayan footballer is yet to redeem himself as he prepares for a match between Paris Saint-Germain and Stade Rennais.
